We’re back on deck for 2018 and we’re excited to welcome the new year. Before we launch headlong into 2018 let’s wrap up and celebrate the highlights of Interior Design Online 2017.
Job Opportunities
IDO students continue to enthusiastically embrace internships and job opportunities while immersing themselves in their online studies.
Regitze Hansen did exceptionally well in her internship at Studio Snoop whilst maintaining her other work and parenting commitments.
Olivia Morgan secured a job with B Seated to compliment her studies just two weeks after enrolling at IDO and accessing the SDS Career Connect service.
Some IDO students are taking on private work as they study. It’s fantastic to see them adding to their skill sets and experience.
We had some wonderful face to face sessions and phone discussions with interstate students around being job ready. These included resume preparation and how to source work that will complement their interior design studies and career plan.
Our Launch Your Career night was a huge success. Held in conjunction with Sydney Design School, the event was attended by a number of IDO students who contributed greatly to the night with some interesting and hard hitting questions. Everyone loved how useful the tips and tricks from industry representatives were.
2017 Highlights
Students joined classes at Sydney Design School and connected offline with like minded creatives.
Design Day Out was lots of fun with students exploring the best suppliers and showrooms in Sydney.
Our Careers Coach Sheridan continued to be active helping our students with their career planning.
We saw graduating students start their own interior design businesses, others completed valuable internships and a number found job placements.
We hit social media running and students have shared lots of awesome work on Instagram using the #IDOtribe hashtag. You can follow us @interiordesignonline_
We launched the IDO blog, and hope to develop it into an invaluable source of news, information and inspiration.
Our international student hub is growing – we’ve added students from Sri Lanka, Egypt and Taiwan in the last few weeks alone!
IDO graduate Julia Motsch was honoured with a ‘Highly Commended’ award by our director Amanda Grace.
Fiona Taylor received an award acknowledging the exceptional standard of her Major Project work.
IDO students hit the trade shows… Denfair seemed to be the favourite last year.
Three IDO babies were born, and more are due!
