Created by the leading colour professionals at Interior Design Online, our Colour for Interiors course will inspire you and give you the essential skills you need to design exquisite interior schemes. How to Apply
Simply apply and pay online, there are no pre-requisites for this course. Our team will take one business day to process your enrolment and then you’ll receive a unique login to our eCampus so you can get started.
Course Cost
- Pay $995 in full (GST free) or pay an initial deposit through Paypal of $395 at the time of enrolment, followed by 2 monthly instalments of $300 via Ezidebit
- A 2% PayPal processing fee will be applied at checkout (inc GST).
- 12 week duration (3 hours per week)
You will need to purchase
- Scissors, cutting knife and glue stick
- Strong double sided tape used for mounting fabrics onto card
- 1 x A3 1mm (thick) white sturdy card
- 1 x A3 2mm (thick) white sturdy card
- 2 – 3 interior magazines
- Commercial paint chips (free from Bunnings or a paint store)
- A commercial paint fan deck
What You’ll Learn
- Have a thorough understanding of colour theory and the use of colour tools
- Be able to create a variety of colour schemes to meet differing needs of clients
- Understand how to apply colour proportionally and create unity throughout an interior
- Have a thorough understanding of colour psychology and its effects
- Design colour schemes to evoke specific moods and atmospheres in an interior
- Visually manipulate an interior space using colour
- Create an exterior colour scheme for a client brief
- Specify colour palettes for residential interiors using commercial colour tools
- Understand the role of a Colour Consultant
How You’ll Learn
Colour for Interiors is delivered through our online eCampus. The eCampus is easy to navigate and accessible from anywhere there is an internet connection. It is filled with inspirational images, practical colour resources, video presentations and lots of real life examples.
You will work through a range of activities using the resources supplied in your Colour Workbook (which you will need to download and print). The activities cover the essential colour theory and tools that are used by industry professionals to create successful and beautiful interior schemes. Each activity carefully guides you step-by-step through the creative process, gradually building your knowledge and confidence.
Along the way, your personal Educator – a colour professional who is working in the industry – will be on hand to provide guidance and answer questions during your creative journey. When you’ve completed all of your activities and assessments, you simply upload your work for marking and feedback.
Accreditation
Upon completion of your course you will receive a Statement of Attainment which can be used as credit towards further study including the Certificate IV in Interior Decoration (MSF40122). For a full list of unit competences for this course click here.
Entry
You will need basic computer knowledge and the ability to navigate the Internet. In terms of equipment you will need a computer or laptop with Microsoft Office, access to the Internet (preferably broadband), access to an A4 printer and scanner (Min 1000+ DPI) and a digital camera or phone.
You are required to upload your assessments as a PDF so you will require software on your phone such as Turbo Scan or Genius Scan.
To study with Interior Design Online you will need a strong command of the English language (verbal, written and comprehension) and, if required, be able to score at least 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test here or an equivalent.
If required, our team will be in contact with you by telephone to assess your English language proficiency, prior to an enrolment confirmation being sent. If your application is not successful due to your language ability your payment will be refunded in full.
