In this advanced course, designed specifically for Interior Designers, Decorators, Colour Consultants and Architects, you will extend your knowledge of colour theory to discover exciting new ways to create dynamic and sophisticated colour schemes. Venture deeper into the exciting world of materials, finishes and sustainability for both residential and commercial environments. You’ll explore exterior and heritage colour and finishes palettes considering aspects of light, location, surroundings and architectural style.

This accredited course explores how colour trends are predicted globally and are used across a range of areas from branding and fashion to interiors. You will be introduced to new ideas on colour from aspirational public spaces around the world and explore the latest colour and finishes trends being used in commercial spaces, such as education, health and hospitality. Become a Colour Specialist and produce professional specifications and renders.

How does it work?

This course is delivered through our online eCampus. The eCampus is easy to navigate and accessible from anywhere there is an internet connection. It is filled with inspirational images, practical colour resources, video presentations and lots of real life examples.

You will work through a range of activities. Each activity carefully guides you step-by-step through the creative process, gradually building your knowledge and confidence.

Along the way, our Educators – colour professionals who are working in the industry –  will be on hand to provide guidance and answer questions during your creative journey. When you’ve completed all of your activities and assessments, you simply upload your work for marking and feedback.

What skills do I need?

This course is designed for industry professionals, to apply you will need one of the following pre-requisite qualifications;

  • Colour for Interiors (Interior Design Online)
  • Certificate IV in Interior Decoration
  • Certificate IV in Design
  • A colour theory course or equivalent

You will need basic computer knowledge and the ability to navigate the internet. In terms of equipment you will need a computer or laptop with Microsoft Office, access to the internet (preferably broadband), access to an A4 printer and scanner (Min 1000+ DPI) and a digital camera or phone camera.

You are required to upload your assessments as a PDF so you will require software on your phone such as Turbo Scan or Genius Scan.

To study with Interior Design Online you will need a strong command of the English language (verbal, written and comprehension) and, if required, be able to score at least 6 in the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) test here or an equivalent.

If required, our team will be in contact with you by telephone to assess your English language proficiency, prior to an enrolment confirmation being sent. If your application is not successful due to your language ability your payment will be refunded in full.

What is the cost?

  • Pay AUD $995 in full (GST free) or pay a deposit of $395 followed by 2 monthly instalments of $300 via Ezidebit
