Design Day Out // September 2017
We believe that taking our students out of the studio and into the real world of design is vital. Last week, some of our students joined Sydney Design School students to explore the best suppliers and showrooms in Sydney. We found some stunning new products and colour schemes to inspire our projects. Thank you to all our industry supporters who opened their doors to share their knowledge!

Where did we go?
Over two days we headed to some of Sydney’s most well known creative precincts to explore Boyd Blue, The Rug Collection, Koskela, GlobeWest, Cosh Living, Spence & Lyda, Jardan Furniture, Zepel Fabrics, Blu Dot, and GlobeWest, Elliot Clarke and Westbury Fabrics to name a few.

What did we find?
In every showroom we visited there was a consistent trend: A return to good quality, handcrafted products that are unique and designed by passionate individuals. The fabric houses noticed distinct trends for embroiderys and velvets as well as a return to strong, pure colours.

What are we loving?
An absolute highlight was Jardan Furniture’s new showroom designed by IF Architecture – that pink staircase!
